Consultation with Dr. Karen Doughty
Dr. Karen Doughty would love to meet you—right where you are. Whether you’re carrying silent pain, seeking clarity, or simply ready to explore your next step toward healing, this space is for you. Together, we’ll uncover hope, create new possibilities, and build the foundation for lasting transformation.

LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!
Adult survivors of sexual abuse are often known to live quietly in
the shadows. Many carry their stories as well-kept secrets. Perhaps
this describes you. Yet, even in secrecy, your mind may race with
thoughts—like cars speeding down a highway—never slowing down.
On the one hand, constant motion can keep negative thoughts from
lingering. But on the other hand, those same racing thoughts often
leave emotions like anger, anxiety, and fear pent up inside—creating the feeling of being “stuck.”
How do I know? Because this was once my reality. For me, the need for a doctor, a counselor, and a spiritual covering could not be denied.
But as your friend—yes, friend—someone allied in your struggle, a comrade and advocate in your cause—I am here to remind you: secrets are made to be broken. Breaking them is the first step toward healing. Otherwise, hidden pain will continue to eat away at you like an unseen cancer.
Let me assure you, I am not here to overwhelm you. I am here to offer you something far greater: hope and a future.
I know your hurt. I know your pain. I have struggled with your struggles and cried your cries. But today, I take joy in helping others—especially those whose stories mirror mine—take the steps they need to heal. To serve you best begins with laying a strong foundation. That foundation starts with a simple step: a consultation. Let’s talk about where you are now and where you would like to be.
In the meantime, allow me to share a little about myself. My work is rooted in altruism—an unselfish devotion to the welfare of others—combined with my own personal experience, professional training, and years of walking with survivors of sexual abuse.
If you feel hesitant, I understand. But let me encourage you to “test the waters.” As the Chinese proverb says:
“Teachers open the door, but you must walk through it yourself.”
